Former Physician Charged with Assault Charges Involving 38 Patients
Prosecutors have announced that a former physician now faces charges for committing assaults involving 38 individuals who were under his care.
Details of the Serious Allegations
The accused, Nathaniel Spencer from Birmingham is accused of dozens of sexual offences – including some against minors under the age of thirteen – spanning the period from 2017 to 2021.
A deputy chief prosecutor commented, “Legal teams have worked at length to support a detailed and complex investigation, meticulously examining the available evidence to establish that there is sufficient evidence to proceed to trial and that it is in the interest of justice.”
Scope of the Investigation
The charges come after what investigators called a “detailed inquiry” into alleged assaults at medical facilities: the Royal Stoke university hospital and a facility in Dudley.
Spencer is scheduled to appear at the North Staffordshire justice centre on January 20th.

The charging documents said the 45 sexual offences include:
- 15 counts of assault.
