Each are being considered with the manager's job at the Scottish champions following Brendan Rodgers' resignation on Monday.

McKenna's Position on The Scottish Club

McKenna described Celtic as "a really big football club" but emphasized he is "deeply involved" of a "extensive rebuilding" with Ipswich Town.

The mid-thirties took charge of Ipswich in recent years and led them to the Premier League with back-to-back promotions, but they managed only a handful of victories last campaign as they were demoted back to the Championship and they currently sit 12th in the Championship.

"I have not had any of those discussions," the London-born former Northern Ireland youth international said when asked about being on Celtic's shortlist.

"It's not something I have considered seriously, or where any portion of my focus is currently.

"I possess a special position here at a special club. And we're at a crucial phase of the campaign. Anything outside of that hasn't touched my awareness."

Background and Agreement Aspects

It has been suggested that the manager would be open to speaking to the Scottish side given his childhood support.

"Growing up, we all have our preferences," he said when questioned about these. "I don't think everyone has to go around and declare what they used to be, but naturally it's a massive sports organization."

McKenna agreed to a fresh four-year contract in 2024 and was questioned about his reported buyout clause.

"In every manager's contract, there are things," he replied. "I'm unaware what my specific terms are and, if I did, I wouldn't disclose you anyway!

"I approach this role like I will remain Ipswich manager indefinitely. I know that's not invariably going to be the situation, but I'll always give maximum effort as long as I am here."

Bellamy's Position

Bellamy played for the Hoops on loan from Newcastle United in the mid-2000s, but the former Wales forward is minded to finish the ongoing global tournament qualification, a stance that would effectively rule out the 46-year-old from assuming the Celtic job.

The Welsh squad are presently third in their World Cup group behind group toppers the Red Devils and second-placed Macedonia.

Victories over Liechtenstein and North Macedonia in next month would book their position in the final qualifying round, but they are all but guaranteed of reaching that stage, thanks to a successful European competition campaign, should they fail to end up their group runners-up.

Given his current position, the Wales manager, whose contract expires after the European Championship, would not be available until following the qualifying matches at the minimum.
