Salah Offers Statement to Squad, Discloses Curtis Jones

Curtis Jones has shared that Salah apologised to the group of players in the wake of the fallout from his televised remarks.

The Incident

The striker was dropped from a key Champions League match subsequent to making accusations and suggesting his connection to the head coach had soured.

“He speaks for himself and he can say his own stuff,” Jones told Sky Sports. “His apology was clear and was like: ‘Should anyone feel slighted, I'm sorry.’”

The head coach has chosen not to reveal on whether he was apologised to from the player.

Looking Ahead

The player stated that the team's response remained positive. “He was his usual self, he had a big smile on his face and everybody was exactly the same with him,” the midfielder explained.

The midfielder also implied that a teammate fighting for a place is a positive trait. “I get that there are certain ways you can handle situations,” he said. “Yet, should someone be happy to just be on the bench, then I think that’s more of an issue.”

Team Form

The team's performance have stayed unbeaten in the matches since the initial controversy. He feels the forward's comments were not intended to harm the team.

“When there’s been any sort of anger, it has consistently come from a desire to win,” the midfielder stated. “That chapter is closed and we’re uniting strongly, performing and on a positive run.”
